Codes are simply the brief, descriptive labels you assign to your positions, locations, shift types, employee teams, and other related items.

How Codes are used in SchedulePro
Codes are useful because they can compactly hold a lot of information. For example, when you create your position codes, it's a bit different from simply listing your job titles.
Each code has a name and a description, but many also include all the configuration options directly within the code setup.
So, you can see creating a code as combining the naming and configuration steps into one easy process. The codes available in SchedulePro are:
- Shift Codes
- Leave Codes
- Position Codes
- Location Codes
- Refusal Codes
- Skill Codes
- Break Codes
- Task Codes
- Team Codes
- Work Reason Codes
The three core codes are Shift, Position, and Location codes. These are the codes that go into your Daily Core Staffing Requirements and Shift Patterns, which are necessary to build a working schedule.
Code Print Order
Certain codes within SchedulePro can be set up with print orders. The print order determines how the codes are viewed in the schedule or reporting based on how the schedule or report is sorted.
While codes can share the same print order number, it is recommended to give each code its own unique print order number. If two codes share a print order number, SchedulePro will organize them alphanumerically by the code.
Print orders are set for the following codes: shift, position, location, and secondary position/certifications. The print order can be seen from each of the code lists.
